Child & Adolescent Evaluations (Psychiatry)

Instructions to Complete Your Booking

Psychiatric evaluations for minors require at least three appointments to complete.

The initial appointment should be with the parents or guardians of the patient and the provider only. The minor patient should not be present at the time of the first appointment. The second & third appointments will include the patient, parents/guardians, or both (depending on the provider's recommendation at the first appointment).

Failure to schedule these additional appointments promptly may result in long wait times between appointments and delay the evaluation process. If you have scheduled an initial appointment with a psychiatrist, please call our intake department at 925-282-1778 to schedule your second and third appointments as soon as possible.

Please note, this policy applies to any appointment scheduled for a minor (17 years or younger) with a psychiatrist (MD, DO or NP) for an evaluation. It does not apply to therapy appointments (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, PsyD, or PhD). While initial evaluations are generally three appointments, it may require additional appointments. Any concerns regarding this policy should be discussed with the provider at the initial appointment.
