About
Edward McCrone, PhD
Dr. McCrone earned his PhD from the University of Minnesota and he has provided services through various social service agencies across the Bay Area for the past 20 years. He has experience helping clients make peace with trauma, abuse, grief, anxiety, depression, parenting distress, addiction, disease, death, unresolved pain from relationship misfortune, and coming out/LGBTQ+ issues. He offers psychotherapy focused on at least four themes: 1) Frank talk about what has gone wrong or been missing, and acknowledgement of any afflicted feelings; 2) Grief work focused on moving past trauma, deprivation, loss, disillusionment, disloyalty, and inconsolability; 3) Replacing unfortunate habits (of mind, heart or action) with ways of living in the present that clients would find more compatible and comfortable; 4) Abilities to pursue improvements with determination and enthusiasm, despite temptations to give up after setbacks.
