I strongly support the “bio-psycho-social” model of treating psychiatric disorders ( mental health conditions). Therefore, I understand that medication is only one part of treatment. I believe that collaboration between therapist, primary care physician and psychiatrist is of great benefit to my patients.
I attended New York Medical College in White Plains, NY. I then completed my residency in adult psychiatry at California Pacific Medical Center here in San Francisco.
Although I have extensive experience in the treatment of general psychiatric disorders, I take a special interest in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as gay and lesbian issues.

My practice style revolves around comprehensive psychiatric care.I try to take into consideration all aspects of the client — including medical issues, family and relationship issues, occupational issues, and spiritual issues.I tailor each unique treatment plan to the client.I believe psychiatric medications and psychotherapy (“talk therapy”) are both valid and effective approaches to treatment.Often, combining medications with therapy will yield the best, most swift results.I am trained in various therapy modalities, including CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), solution-oriented therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Jungian therapy, and others. My educational background includes a Biochemistry B.S. at the University of Arizona, followed by medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After medical school, I completed a 4-year residency program in Adult Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina.Thank you for reading a little bit about me and my practice.I look forward to meeting you!
