Alexandra Wike, PhD

Nothing is more important than the relationship we build with the self. When we improve our understanding of the self, perception becomes more objective and opportunities for positive change materialize.

Alexandra Wike, PhD

The decision to seek self-knowledge through therapy takes humility and courage, and one of my primary goals is to facilitate a genuine and authentic therapeutic space in which you feel safe being vulnerable. I am confident in our ability to collaboratively manage issues with mood and anxiety, chronic, transitional, and/or traumatic stress, interpersonal relationships, and substance overuse.

I’ve provided therapy in multiple venues, including an outpatient psychology clinic, a private hospital, and multiple public hospitals since 2011. My therapeutic orientation is eclectic, drawing from various cognitive behavioral therapies as well as interpersonal and humanistic therapy.
I earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a doctorate in clinical health psychology from the University of North Texas, a Tier I research institution. I completed my pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington. As a psychologist trained under the scientist practitioner (or Boulder) model, I am experienced in the philosophy and science underlying human behavior and use this knowledge to inform a tailored conceptualization and treatment plan for each of my patients. In developing a deep understanding of your experience and perspective, you will be empowered by insight, self-knowledge, and personal growth. Today is a new chance to begin healing, find peace, and progress towards actualization.
