I was drawn to the field of mental health because I genuinely enjoy helping people to take control of their emotional state and improve the quality of their lives. I work from an integrated, strengths-based perspective to empower my clients to overcome the challenges they are facing. I recognize that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Each of us brings our own rich experiences and needs to therapy, that are highly distinct and unique. Together, as we get to know each other and build a trusting therapeutic relationship, we will determine what therapy should look like for you.

I have expertise in helping patients navigate grief and complicated grief, treating trauma/PTSD, substance abuse, personality disorders, anxiety and depression, as well as assisting them with major life transitions, veteran issues and LGBTQ issues. I utilize a holistic approach that incorporates Control Mastery Theory, Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral techniques, with a Humanistic/Existential framework. After serving 14 years in the US Army, I completed my undergraduate degree in Health and Social Services at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, my Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern California, and I am a doctoral candidate in Psychology at California Southern University. I have worked in intensive outpatient, forensic, and community mental health settings previously.
