Amy Evans, LPCC

The most important factor in therapy is finding the right therapist for YOU.

Amy Evans, LPCC

Finding a clinician with whom you are both comfortable and can develop a trusting relationship is essential. I am a highly interactive therapist; as eager to offer observations and insights as I am to listen. I believe all my clients have the potential to grow and flourish into the best version of themselves. Are you ready to start the journey towards becoming your BEST self?

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with an extensive history working with children, young adults and their families. Experienced in treating children and adolescents with severe anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, ADHD, parent-child conflict, relationship issues, and difficulty coping with the stress of major life transitions (e.g. divorce, leaving for college, starting a new job, changing schools).

In my early career as an elementary school teacher, I worked closely with students with varying degrees of learning disabilities and developmental challenges, including social and emotional delays. After a decade of teaching, I obtained a Masters in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School, adding this to my Masters in Education from Marygrove College in Detroit.

Upon completion of my education, I began working with at-risk teenagers and their families, with a significant focus on trauma-related treatment. I am well versed in educational issues and developmental obstacles, which provides a unique perspective to treatment planning, and assisting clients and their families in setting and achieving goals.

My approach to therapy focuses on developing strengths and effective coping tools, while helping clients build insight into underlying factors that feed problematic symptoms.
